Day 11 #adventchallenge

The Twelve Dancing Princesses retold by Susanna Davidson

This challenge not only has been a challenge for me (finding 24 books without spending too much and writing a review every day!!) but it has also been a challenge for my daughter, who is having to learn how to recognise her numbers! Today was a special challenge, as she is fine with numbers up to 10, and 11 is a bit trickier!!

This book is another bargain from Books For Bugs, at their brilliant price of £2.50!! ( It is an adaptation of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale and is right up my daughters street, as she loves everything Princess and fairytale!! The story follows 12 princesses who love to dance, but their father bans dancing in his castle. He even locks them up in a tower to prevent them from dancing! However, they find their own special place to dance, so the king asks the princes of the land to find out just where they go, with the promise of a princess to marry if they find out!!

It is a simple version of the tale, which means it is perfect for children of a young age, and the illustrations are bright and simple too, with funny little captions along the way.

This book is a must for any dancing princess out there!!
