The science behind your baby's laughter

An interesting article has really made me think about laughter today
We often do not laugh enough. Laughter is a great way to relieve stress, create happiness and show how you view the world. This is exactly were laughter is interesting within a baby's development.
The Baby Laughter Project has found that baby's will respond to things they enjoy with a smile as young as 1 month old.

It is the simplest things which make babies giggle too, because they have such a small knowledge and experience of the world. For our little one, it was a shock of a rattle spinning on her swing chair which first made her laugh. Totally unfunny to the outsider, but hilarious to the little 3 month old who had just found her laugh! Looking back now, it was the most amazing thing I had ever heard and I just wanted to keep hearing it! Trouble is, what was funny at first was not funny a few minutes later!

I still to this day endeavour to make my daughter laugh at least once a day! I love it when we share something we both find funny too! More often than not, she makes me laugh more than I make her laugh! In fact, another study found that children laugh up to 300 times a day, compared with just 20 times for adults!! (More on that on the links below)
