Painting with..................cotton buds!!

Explore the different marks which Cotton buds (or "Q tips") create!

I spotted somebody on the Internet using cotton buds to create a delicate picture and decided to try this out with my daughter. She chose two simple colours to explore and got stuck straight in! In fact, this activity ended up lasting a lot longer then our usual painting activities, as she became engrossed with what she was doing!

Of course, you must make sure your child is aware that the purpose of the cotton buds for this activity is to paint with them, to prevent them trying to place them any where else!! (helath and safety!!)
The most interesting thing about using these as a painting tool is the many different marks which can be made with them. My daughter discovered that she could create dots as well as strokes using the buds, spreading the paint as far as she could across the paper.

So, give it a try. It is a delicate and interesting way to paint!!
