Easter Activity number 2!! Easter Playdough!!

Why not get into the Easter spirit and create this wonderful Easter Playdough!!

I was looking on the Internet to see if people had created an Easter Playdough recipe, and found that this was something which is lacking! Chocolate playdough is of course great for Easter, but I wanted to create something which was seasonal smelling, but steering away from the chocolate which is going to be in abundance this weekend!!

Then the idea struck me a few days ago whilst spreading jam and butter on my daughters Hot cross bun.....hot cross bun playdough!! Hmm, but not so good making playdough with raisins in when you don't want you child eating it!! But surely just to harness the scent of Hot Cross Buns! Surely it could be done?

It can! And my daughter has been playing with it for the last half an hour!! It has made the kitchen smell totally wonderful and although I actually do not like Hot Cross Buns, the warm spicy fruity smell in my kitchen is really lovely, especially when it is so grey outside today!!

So here we have it, my Easter Playdough recipe :

1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
1 Cup warm water
1 tbsp Oil
2 tsp Cream of tartar
1 Dessert spoon Mixed spice

Add all the dry ingredients into a saucepan and mix. Add the oil and water and place on a medium heat, stirring until the mixture thickens. Leave to cool and knead into ball shape.

We have been making Hot Cross Buns out of the playdough (up until I was told to leave the table - I got the impression Mummy was having far to much fun for her liking!!)

Give it a try!!
