Try a very wintery, fun activity with snow dough!

Have lots of fun with this recipe for glittery snow play dough!!

My daughter loves play dough. It is one of her favourite things to do at home, especially with the tools she has acquired, such as the mini rolling pin. With the weather outside turning colder, I thought that I should start some wintry activities at home, and play dough appeared to be the best place to start where she enjoys it so much.

I had been previously looking at Pintrest, and stumbled across a pin on glittery snow dough. Unfortunately, the link didn't work, but I wanted to find out what sort of ingredients were needed to create such lovely white dough! I found several recipes online, but this one worked out best for us :

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup salt
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 Tablespoons cream of tartar
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 pot glitter
Directions:
  1. In medium saucepan, and without heat, combine dry ingredients and stir.
  2. Add liquid ingredients and stir again.
  3. With heat on LOW, stir until the mixture is VERY thick, about two minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and allow to cool a bit.
  5. Add glitter and then knead dough until smooth.
  6. Store in Ziploc bag or plastic dish with lid.

To make it extra wintry, you can add peppermint essence with the liquid ingredients to create a really fresh feel to it! It is also another way of making the play dough extra sensory for your child.
