Parma Ham and Fig Pizza Recipe

Why not have a go at making your own homemade pizzas??

My lovely friends shared this lovely photo of their daughter with her Daddy making their very own pizzas. Not only did they create them from scratch, but they also created a new twist to the Hawaiian pizza.......Parma ham and fig!! So, here is a recipe for Parma ham and fig pizza, why not give it a go........and don't burn them like I managed to do with our pizzas tonight!!

Basic dough
  • 250g flour
  • 1tsp salt
  • 2tsp instant dried yeast
  • 200ml lukewarm water
  • 110g tomato paste
  • 500g  mozzarella
  • 500g Parma ham
  • 200g figs
  • Handful of sage leaves
  •  salt and black pepper
Place the dough ingredients into a bowl or mixer. Knead using the dough hook or your hands for 5 minutes, or until soft and pliable.
Cover and leave to prove in a warm place until doubled in size. Knock back and shape into 5 equal sized balls.
Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Roll out the dough on a floured surface, into any shape you desire. Spread the tomato paste over the dough, ensuring you cover the edges. Top with Parma ham, figs and torn pieces of mozzarella. Cook the pizza for 8 – 10 minutes or until the mozzarella has melted and the pizza looks golden and crispy. Garnish with sage leaves and season to taste. Serve immediately.
