Remembering the things your children say

There are many times we forget something cute our children say.........so here is my solution!
The picture above could have many lovely captions to it..........you can imagine what he is saying to his reflection!! Photo's are brilliant for capturing such lovely moments, but what about when our children say something really cute in conversation? We cannot guarantee these things will be when you happen to have the video on on your phone, or the old camcorders out!

I was reading an article about conversations our children have with us as parents, and even as practitioners. I have heard many an interesting conversation from 3 and 4 year olds.........enough to make a very entertaining phrases book!! But, how about creating a conversation diary?

The idea is that you write down what your child has said which made you go "awwwwwwww!" or smile. Date it and time it if possible. This means you may have to carry a small note pad in your pocket or bag or make sure you can write it down as soon as you can. As you build up the comments, you create a lovely way of remembering the lovely things that your child says as they get older. It is a great keepsake for your child too!!

I am considering combining my daughters scrapbook with a conversation diary, adding her comments to the photographs I have of her. I love the idea of her looking through them in a few years time, thinking "I can't believe I said that!"

Has anyone already done something like this? Or have any other interesting ways of remembering the funny comments their children say? I would love to hear from you!

many thanks to Heather for the use of the picture of her adorable son!
