An activity idea

Let's get creative a make something fun!!

My daughter had recently developed an interest in spiders. This has got me thinking about lots of fun ways to do spider related activities with her. One such activity I am planning to doa t some point, is make a paper plate spider. This is very easy and simple to do. All you need is:

A paper plate
Black paint
Googly eyes
Sticky tape
Black pipe cleaners
Silver pen

Take your paper plate and paint it black. Once dry, stick the googly eyes on and draw a mouth using the silver pen. Add eight black pipe cleaners with sticky tape along the outside of the plate and there you have it, a spider!! To make the spider more interesting, you can add string at the top of the plate so that it can hang from the ceiling if you wish. The good thing about this activity is that it is simple, and young children can easily take part in making it.

Another great and quick way to make a spider is to get two black handprints from your child, stick them overlapping each other so that the hands stick out to the side and add your googly eyes and silver mouth!! Great fun!!
