Child friendly Mince Pie Recipe



BoldBoldIf you fancy cooking a little treat with your child, then try this one!!
Child friendly mince pies

You will need:

225g cold , diced butter
350g plain flour
100g Castor sugar
280g mincemeat
1 small egg, beaten
icing sugar for dusting
1. Making the pastry - rub the flour and butter in together, then mix in the sugar. Combine the pastry into a ball and knead it briefly.

2. Preheat your oven to 200 c, gas mark 6. Line a patty tin with a walnut sized amount of pastry, and spoon in some mincemeat into each one.

3.Take smaller balls of pastry and pat them out to make round lids, big enough to cover the pies. Top the pies with the lids and press the sides down to seal.

4. Brush the tops of the pies with egg and bake for 20 mins. Leave to cool for 5 mins, take out of the tin and dust with icing sugar.
