Vanilla Shortbread Stars Recipe





Try this Delicious recipe with your children as a fun activity before school is back!!

Vanilla shortbread star biscuits

You will need:

150g plain flour
100g butter
50g vanilla sugar
1 vanilla pod
225g caster sugar (these last two make the vanilla sugar)

1. Make the vanilla sugar by whizzing the vanilla pod and the sugar in a blender. Pour through a sieve and blend again. Store in an airtight jar.

2. Preheat the oven to gas mark 4 (180c) Place the flour and butter in a bowl and rub together to form crumbs. Add in the vanilla sugar and mix to form a dough. Roll out the dough and using a star shaped cutter, cut out stars and place on a baking tray lined with baking paper.

3. Bake for 8-10 mins until golden and sprinkle with vanilla sugar. These will live in a tin for up to a week!!
